Aluminium glazing products have advanced hugely in recent years and ZODA continue to be proud to lead the way in terms of premium, contemporary design. However, can we really install these products with a clear conscience, knowing that we are not damaging the environment for years, if not decades to come?

It is clear to see why contemporary, slimline aluminium glazing continues to generate so much interest and now we are excited to announce the addition of Comar 10 Passive Windows and 7PI + Lift & Slide Doors to our range. With stunning, modern profiles and u-values as low as 0.66 W/m2K, our thermally efficient glazing systems not only look beautiful but are designed to work in harmony with low energy homes. These products can be safely recycled, meaning that style vs. responsibility no longer needs to be a choice.

Aluminium Re-Cycling – A Sustainable Solution

With sustainability issues at the top of the global ‘green’ agenda, the building industry is under more scrutiny than ever. Fortunately, the aluminium industry is making a positive and proven contribution and global recycling rates in the construction sector are high – up to 90% for construction/transport applications (compared to 60% for beverage cans).

Why are the rates of aluminium recycling so high? The main factor is that aluminium can be recycled over and over without loss of properties, and this ensures that the high value of aluminium scrap remains a strong incentive and financial impetus for recycling. This can only benefit future generations by conserving energy and saving up to 95% of the energy required for primary production, meaning that aluminium really does offer a solution to today’s serious sustainability concerns.

Our suppliers are committed to conducting their business in an open and honest manner and as such, their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policies reflect their commitment to minimise the impact of their operations for future generations. There are a number of ways in which they continue to reduce their impact on the environment including a continual assessment of their carbon footprint, a reduction in the use of utilities such as gas and water and a number of other contributing factors.
